all bets were off as to the date of the housing/banking meltdown once the steagall glass banking act was abolished in 1999 and yet i do not ever hear anyone explaining how that act protected us from banking/housing "fishy" acts until 1999..once abolished it could have been 6 months, 2 years, 12 years but the meltdown was coming! i have sent emails to white house asking them to reenact that bill but instead they chose to redo our entire system
